Kootingal lawn bowls trio Dave Russell, Terry Johnson and Ben Ballentine took out the weekend’s revamped Tamworth City Easter Tournament.
Coming into the final round, they were third, seven shots behind the leaders.
But the two front runners both lost their last match, allowing them to sneak home by two and a half points.
18 teams entered the new triples format, with 10 points on offer for the win, and a point awarded for each end won.
