Residents of Valla, near Nambucca Heads, will finally get a new bridge across Deep Creek.
The bridge, on the old Pacific Highway, has been closed for two years after it sustained structural damage in the March 2009 flood.
Several hundred Valla locals have been forced to use a detour adding up to 30 kilometres to their daily journey to work and school.
Work on the new $470,000 single lane concrete bridge is expected to begin in February.
