FINANCIAL BOOST FOR NORTH COAST GROUPS

Sporting and community clubs on the north coast are celebrating newly announced funding from the state government.

More than $60,000 is going to groups between Taree and Lismore.

The Coffs Coast Tigers will put its $3,000 dollar grant towards helping get more African refugees into the world game.

The money will cover registration fees, football gear and travelling costs.

This year 19 African refugees played for the club, some signed up just one month after arriving in Australia.
