HUNTER FLOOD WATCH

The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast heavy rain in the Upper Hunter Valley area Thursday night and Friday. The rain may be heavy enough to cause localised flooding in low-lying areas, as well as causing tributary creeks to break their banks. There is a possibility of flash flooding occurring in Scone during this period.
If this weather system intensifies, flooding could develop on Kingdon Ponds as well as the Goulburn, Pages and Hunter Rivers. If so, the Bureau will issue flood warnings predicting flood heights at key gauges at Scone, Muswellbrook and Singleton. The warnings will also estimate the times flooding will reach these heights.
