After two and a half weeks of partying, official schoolies celebrations have come to a close.
About 10,000 school leavers decended on Byron Bay over the last 18 days.
Today the schoolies hub was taken down after operating 24-7 and giving out 600 litres of water a day.
“it was fabulous, the schoolies hub was a great success and i think they’ve had a good time while they were here, my volunteers really enjoyed themselves”
Many schoolies even avoided excessive alcohol.
“overall in the two weeks we would have had thousands of young people come through and blow zero”
Police say attendence numbers were up on last year and offences were down.
