Singleton councillors have unanimously supported a motion to amend a local environment plan to prohibit gas exploration.
AGL has been drilling for gas in the Broke area for more than two years.
But the community is concerned about the environmental impacts of the project, as well as a perceived lack of consultation.
AGL argues the exploration is sympathetic to the environment.
