Hastings bricklayers have been giving up their Sundays, responding to a call to arms to support Kendall’s Little Athletics club.
After securing a state government grant, the club just needed help to get its new amenities block built before the funding lapsed.
An appeal was then launched by local MP Peter Besseling for tradies willing to help lay 10,000 bricks.
Bricklayers have been hard at it for the past two weeks and expect to complete the job by the end of next month.
