Port Macquarie-Hastings is among the first councils in the state to go “on-line” with a new Electronic Housing Code, offering residents the chance to submit plans without leaving home.
The council is one of 10 across New South Wales to go live with the system, which fast-tracks applications for new homes, alterations and complying development applications.
The council implemented the online option this week after successfully trialling it for 12 months.
A further 24 councils are expected to take up the e-planning system over the next two years.
