Hundreds of green thumbs made the most of the sunshine by taking part in National Tree Day today.
One million native trees and shrubs were planted across 3,500 sites, including Newcastle’s King Edward Park.
Dedicated volunteers were joined by environmentally-minded members of the public, including children across the Hunter region.
It was the tenth annual National Tree Day.
