The town of Gunnedah is preparing for flooding tonight with the Namoi River expected to peak in the town at midnight.
It comes after the Peel River reached 5.1 metres in Tamworth overnight.
The latest forecast from the Bureau of Meteorology forecasts the river will reach 7.4 metres in Gunnedah.
