GIDLEY STILL WANTS TO BE NUMBER ONE IN NSW

Knights captain Kurt Gidley admits he’d prefer to play fullback for New South Wales if he’s chosen again next year, but says he’ll fit in wherever needed.

Gidley was the star attraction at a development clinic in Newcastle today, where he was joined by former Knights who’ve also played State of Origin.

While he’s concentrating on helping the Knights win their 4th game in a row, it was tough to ignore questions about his role in the Blues team.

It doesn’t matter where I play when I do play for the Blues but I guess the amount of time I like to play is 80 minutes, so I’m prepared to play anywhere but I’d like to be out there for the whole time.
