Bulga residents have rallied in Sydney, calling on the Premier to intervene and block a proposed mine expansion.
Campaigners set up oversized scales outside the Supreme Court – a representation of what they say is the injustice in the planning system.
Last month, the Planning Department recommended Rio Tinto’s Mt Thorley Warkworth mine expansion for approval.
It would see the open cut operation come within three kilometres of Bulga.
A final decision is expected by Christmas.
