WATER BANS LIFTED AT BARRABA

Water restrictions have been eased in Barraba, with householders allowed to use hoses for the first time in two months.

Level-three restrictions have been lifted, with level one to apply from Saturday.

It means the use of sprinklers and fixed hoses is allowed for up to two hours between five and seven in the evening.

Hand-held hoses and drip irrigation systems can be used from four in the afternoon until nine in the morning.

The new rules follow a reduction in consumption and recent rainfall, which provided good flows into the Manilla River and Barraba Creek.
