PASSENGERS WON’T BE AFFECTED BY REX INDUSTRIAL ACTION

Ballina and Lismore passengers flying Regional Express from Friday are being assured they won’t be affected by industrial action.
The Australian Federation of Air Pilots says base pay rates for Rex pilots are 10 to 20 per cent lower than other airlines, but the company is refusing to improve its offer.
Friday’s protest action will force the airline to buy fuel in regional ports, but local services shouldn’t be affected.
“We’ve heard there’s some cabin crew and flight crew might be involved in some industrial action but it doesn’t involve the ballina airport so business as usual”
The industrial action will start midnight on Friday and go on indefinitely.
