An elderly couple and three primary students have been taken to Manning Hospital suffering minor injuries, after a car collided with a school bus near Taree this afternoon.
Around 30 children were on the bus at the time – paramedics assessed them at the scene, before replacement transport arrived.
“It looks like at this stage the white sedan was travelling east along Old Bar Road and the school bus was actually travelling behind it and that white sedan has then tried to do a u-turn in front of the bus and has collected the front side of the bus.”
The crash caused lengthy traffic delays in both directions for more than an hour.
