The Gold Coast Academy of Sport held its annual awards last night.
Ethan Paikea took out Male Athlete of the Year for rugby league.
While Female Athlete of the Year was awarded to volleyballer, Emily Haines.
“Mum and dad for paying for everything – thanks guys.”
And with the Rugby Sevens in town this weekend, the Academy announced a new rugby union program, for under 13s.
