Some truly devoted couples gave it their all in this year’s Singleton Country Carnival’s Wife Carrying Championships, and a new event called Husband Dragging.
As the latter suggests, the lady drags her man along a slippery sheet, all so he can put out the garbage, then dash back to the bar for a cleansing ale.
Not content with that win, Emma Mellows and her partner made it a photo finish in the wife carrying against Anthony Partridge and Kath Whalan.
The prize, a ticket to contest the world titles in Finland.
