AMBOS AGREE

The New South Wales Ambulance Service and the Health Services Union have called a temporary truce in their dispute over plans to use volunteer ambulance drivers in regional areas.

After talks in Newcastle today, both sides agreed to suspend proceedings in the Industrial Relations Commission and agreed, in principal, to investigate alternative crewing arrangements.

Ambulance officers argued the unpopular proposal would create second rate services for regional communities.
