COFFS FLOOD VICTIMS GET MORE HELP

Coffs Harbour residents who were forced to leave their homes after last year’s March floods, could be eligible for a rates cut.

The council will provide a concession of around $300 to people who were displaced for a minimum of two months.

Hundreds of people lost all their household possessions in the flood which devastated much of the city.

Approximately 50 homeowners are expected to qualify for the rate cut which will cost the council around $20,000.

The total damage bill in Coffs Harbour exceeded $50-million.
