Gold Coast MP, Ros Bates, tried her best to avoid the media today, as a state government scandal widens.
“No comment. This is ridiculous.”
The Arts Minister has taken last-minute leave until November 12.
It means she’ll avoid parliamentary scrutiny over the professional relationship between her son Ben Gommers, who’s a public servant, and senior bureaucrat Michael Caltabiano.
Mr Caltabiano was stood down as head of the Transport Department on Thursday, after being accused of lying to an estimates hearing about his links with Mr Gommers.
Mr Gommers is currently being investigated by the CMC after he secured a highly paid job in the department shortly after the LNP’s election win.
