The recent spate of wet weather hasn’t affected numbers at the Regional Athletics Championships in Taree.
Hundreds of juniors from across northern New South Wales turned out for the event, with the sports grounds holding up despite the soggy conditions.
“It’s quite surprising considering the weather all over NSW in the past week. It was touch and go earlier in the week, but the grounds here have really coped well.”
Those producing the top two placings in each of the track and field events will progress to the State Championships in Homebush next month.
