ROUND TWO FOR CAROONA FARMERS

Four Caroona landholders appeared in court today to continue the fight to stop BHP Billiton from accessing their properties to drill for coal.

They’re fighting the same fight that saw four other farmers lose their battle in the Mining Wardens Court last week, where the magistrate ruled in favour of BHP over land access agreements.

The company was given the nod to explore in accordance with conditions on the exploration licence.

Those farmers are now seeking legal advice over whether to appeal, they have 21 days.
