WORST MAY BE OVER ON JOBS FRONT

There’re signs the Central Coast is recovering from the global financial crisis, with four thousand new jobs created last month.

The region’s unemployment rate now stands at 6.7%, still higher than its neighbours, the Hunter and Sydney which stand at 4.4% and 5.7% respectively.

In Spetember, there were 134,300 people in work on the Central Coast, compared with 125,800 in August.

The number of people looking for work has climbed by 4%.
