A crime scene has been set up in the Hunter Valley, after a man died in a house fire.
The property in Tallowood Drive at Nulkaba caught alight shortly after midday.
Firefighters arrived to find smoke billowing from the house.
Fire Inspector Kernin Lambert today said “Neighbours reported to fire fighters that there may have been persons trapped inside and fire fighters carried out an aggressive internal fire fighting attack.”
They discovered the man dead inside the home.
The roof and much of the interior of the house was severely damaged in the fire.
