P-PLATER’S LICENSE SUSPENDED AFTER DRIVER WAS CAUGHT TRAVELING 170KM/H

A P-plate driver has been caught allegedly travelling at more than 170km/h on the Mid North Coast yesterday.

About 2.30pm on November 9, officers detected a Toyota SUV travelling at 174km/h in a 110km/h zone on the Pacific Highway at Moonee Beach, north of Coffs Harbour.

Police stopped the Toyota a short time later and spoke to the driver, an 18-year-old woman from Prestons.

The driver, with a P1 licence restricted to 100km/h – was issued an infringement for exceeding speed over 45km/h.

Her licence was also suspended for six months and the vehicle plates were taken for three months.
