Police have arrested a 20 year old man from Woolgoolga, over the shooting of a 34 year old man in Mullaway yesterday afternoon.
The victim was shot outside his girlfriend’s Darkum Road residence at around 5.30pm, over what police believe was an altercation over “a previous personal relationship.”
The two men were known to each other.
Police say the shooting occured between the windows of two vehicles, while the victim had his girlfriend and their three children on board.
The 34 year old man was taken to hospital in a stable condition, with a number of wounds to the right side of his head.
It’s believed to be a coincidence that the father of the victim’s girlfriend earlier drowned off Woolgoolga headland, with police saying “there’s no link between these particular events.”
Police say the drowning of the 57 year old is not believed to be suspicious.
