A 46-year-old man has been charged with murder, after his wife’s body was found in a burnt-out home in Nundle more than 10 years ago.
In September, 1998, Sandra Purcell was found dead and badly burnt in her bedroom.
A 35-year-old man and a seven year old girl escaped the fire uninjured.
Initial investigations found the woman died prior to the blaze.
The case was re-opened three years ago.
Mark Byrnes from Tamworth police said as a result a Strikeforce was formed from the Oxley Local Crime Command and continued inquires have lead to an arrest of a 46-year-old Cooma man.
Brett John Pursell was granted conditional bail at Cooma Local Court today and will reappear next Wednesday.
