Lawrie McKinna has created history after being appointed full time manager with Chinese side Chengdu Blades.
The Mariners foundation coach will be the first Australian to take up a head role with a Chinese professional team and has been an interim manager for a short period.
Striker Adam Kwasnik has also joined the club, scoring a 79th-minute equaliser, in a dramatic three-all draw against Shandong Luneng last week.
