Tamworth has defied the odds and taken out Australia’s Tidiest Town award.
The country music capital was judged just days after floods tore through the city in November last year.
Judges say Tamworth’s tidy town committee has played an important role in preserving and enhancing the environment through a broad range of projects.
Tamworth also picked up the National Community Action and Energy Innovation category awards.
