COULTON RETAINS SEAT OF PARKES

The National party’s success in New England also filtered through to the North West of the state.

In the electorate of Parkes, the National Party’s Mark Coulton retained his seat to stay on as the federal member.

With the majority of votes counted, Mr Coulton holds 63.83 per cent of the vote.

He was followed by Country Labor’s Brendan Byron with 21.37 per cent and Neil Gorman for the Palmer United Party with 7.64 per cent.

Mr Coulton has been the federal member for Parkes since 2007.
