A hotel employee was assaulted during an armed robbery at Lake Cathie last night.
At about 8:45, the man was closing the Lake Cathie Tavern on Ocean Drive when two men forced their way through the front door.
“They’ve knocked him unconscious and they’ve stolen a small amount of cash from the premises. At the time of getting in there they were armed with knives. The police have formed a investigation into this matter, it is part of strike force Mehi.”
One of the men is described as having tanned skin, while both were wearing dark hooded jackets.
