There was a dramatic rescue north of Coffs Harbour this afternoon, when a kayaker got into trouble in rough surf off Emerald Beach.
The man found himself unable to make his way back to shore, and Marine Rescue volunteers rushed to his aid.
Despite an initial struggle, he was eventually brought to safety
