Former board members of the Newcastle Knights have extended the deadline for Nathan Tinkler to take total control of the club.
Hunter Sports Group will now have until August 10, as requested, to secure a $20-million bank guarantee.
But the club is also demanding the group make a significant cash injection by July 8, to pay off waiting creditors.
Former chairman Rob Tew handed the demands to the Hunter Sports Group late today.
The decision comes a day after HSG claimed the club lost $1.6-million last year, despite the board announcing a profit.
