The finishing touches have been put on the South Hemisphere’s largest music event.
Country Music Week is officially underway in Tamworth but businesses hoping to cash in on country music week have been warned that dishonest trading won’t be tolerated.
Federal Member for New England, Tony Windsor and Tamworth MP, Peter Draper have both contacted the ACCC and Department of Fair Trading over increasing petrol prices.
Mr Draper say’s there’s no reason for tourists or locals to be paying more at the bowser this time of the year.
“the Singapore price has risen slightly, but not enough to justify an enormous increase in prices. I’m one of the cynics who think this is a very opportunistic move to make some more money out of the visitors and it’s penalising the locals as well, ” says Mr Draper.
