FIRE FIGHTERS WAIT FOR WEATHER CHANGE

Fire fighters working to control a large bushfire burning in the rugged Yengo National Park, south west of Singleton are looking forward to a change in the weather tomorrow.

With temperatures in the 40s today, more than 20, National Parks and Rural Fire Service crews have been working in shifts on the fire that has now burned through about 260 hectares of bush.

Helicopters have been ferrying crews in and water bombing the blaze.

A forecast southerly change should help contain the fire tomorrow.
