A man has been arrested following a shooting in Newcastle this afternoon.
Officers were called to a home in Jesmond at about 4 o’clock and say an 18-year-old man allegedly shot a 23-year-old woman in the leg before fleeing.
The woman was taken to John Hunter Hospital.
The 18-year-old was arrested at Waratah Police Station just before 5 o’clock this afternoon.
