Party polling suggests the race for the seat of Newcastle could be one of the closest ever, and the Liberal Party today sent a busload of volunteers from Sydney to help candidate Jaimie Abbott hand out flyers.
The Labor Party meanwhile says Kevin Rudd’s plan to setup a new TAFE system could be crucial for Newcastle.
“Our art school wasn’t deserving of Liberal funding. You want to go to art school in Newcastle – 12 to 15 thousand dollar price tag to enrol.”
The State Government has forced TAFE to rework its business model.
