A four-year-old child was thrown more than nine metres from a car that during a single-vehicle accident near Armidale this afternoon.
Paramedics arrived at the crash site, at Blackfellas Gully, just before three o’clock and found the child conscious and breathing.
The child’s mother, believed to have been in the vehicle at the time of the crash, suffered minor injuries.
A rescue helicopter was called but was turned back due to poor weather and rough terrain.
