Newcastle golfer Aaron Townsend has cruised to victory at the New South Wales Open at the Vintage in the Hunter Valley.
After five second placings in his pro career, he dominated the weekend rounds to finish seven strokes clear at 17 under from Victorian Steven Jones.
There’s little time to celebrate for Townsend though, he heads to Sydney later tonight before flying to America tomorrow.
That’s where he’ll tee it up for a chance to qualify for the USPGA Tour and given his form at the moment, you wouldn’t back against him.
