An outbreak of gastroenteritis at Muswellbrook Hospital has prompted the area health service to ask people not to visit patients there.
Strict infection control measures have been put in place, to prevent the contagious virus from spreading into the community.
The affected ward will remain isolated for a further 48 hours after the last patient shows signs of recovery.
