SWIMMERS RESCUED FROM SNAPPER ROCKS

A lucky escape for three swimmers, after they were swept into an inlet at Snapper Point at Lake Munmorah.

Rescue crews were called to the area, which is a known danger spot, after a father, his 14-year-old daughter and a 14-year-old boy were sucked into a cave.

The father escaped by swimming away, before helicopter crews attempted to winch the pair to safety.

They were eventually rescued over an hour later by a surf rescue jet-ski.
