There’s been a tragic truck accident on the Pacific Highway, north of Raymond Terrace.
A truck driver died when he became trapped between his rig and a light post at the heavy vehicle checking station, at around 12.30PM.
Police believe the driver was carrying out maintenance work on his rig when it rolled forward.
Detectives and heavy vehicle examiners say it’s too early to confirm exactly how the accident occurred, while the identity of the driver is still unknown.
