CASE ADJOURNED OVER CYCLIST DEATH

A Sydney truck driver, charged with five offences, including dangerous driving occasioning death has had his matter adjourned until later this month.

Joshua Borg was charged in relation to a crash, which killed Newcastle lawyer and cyclist Dominic Mason at Lake Macquarie last year.

Mr Mason, a 33-year-old father of two, had been riding with a group of cyclists along the Pacific Highway, when he was struck by a semi-trailer.

Borg is also charged with driving under the influence, negligent driving and driving with illicit drugs in his system.

He has not yet appeared in Newcastle Local Court, his matter has been adjourned to October 29.
