STATE RESCUE BOARD ABRUPT CHANGE

The State Rescue Board has changed its position on the need for ambulance rescue services in Newcastle.

Just three months to the day of supporting a relocation of the service from Hamilton to Charlestown, the board now says the fire brigade is better placed to operate a rescue unit.
