Newcastle has outclassed Tamworth and Illawarra, to win the Women’s Country Baseball Championship title for the fourth year in a row.
Playing in a round-robin format at Belmont across the weekend, the home side started with a tight contest against the North West.
Isobel Demol hit a home run for Newcastle.
The locals would go on to win their opening game eight runs to seven, before hammering Illawarra 16 to one.
The squad, that contained players from six clubs in the local competition, easily won both its games on Sunday to seal the crown.
