ENVIRONMENT GROUP CALLS FOR PEL 2 CANCELLATION
A Central Coast environment group is calling on the state government to extend the cancellation of a CSG licence to Mangrove Mountain.
The government today announced the cancellation of Petroleum Exploration Licence 463, which covers 190,000 hectares from Bundeena to Gosford.
But the Nature Conservation Council says the decision does not protect the Mangrove Mountain water catchment, which resides on the PEL 2 licence, currently held by AGL.
The state government says they’re continuing discussions with the company about a possible land release.
