TODDLER DROWNS IN FAMILY POOL AT UPPER ORARA

A two-year-old boy has drowned on a rural property at Upper Orara on the state’s mid north coast.

The toddler was rushed to Coffs Harbour Hospital after he was found unconscious, floating in the family swimming pool late yesterday.

Attempts by paramedics to revive the little boy proved unsuccessful.

“Very tragic circumstances and basically something that the family, and the police and ambulance officers will have to deal with for some time.”

Police say the swimming pool was fully fenced.

  1. When will Police charge people in relation to childrens deaths. They are only ever interested in the child wander into a neighbours place or the house is rented. The minute they arrive they say tragic accident no suspicious circumstances preparing a report for the Coroner. It is nothing short of neglect and the adult responsible should be charged and gaoled. These are not accidents preventable deaths but never any sympathy shown towards the child. A bad week of children dying through neglect and no one is charged and no one stands up for them.
Australia is too easy on child deaths as Kidsafe is there to protect the Adult. We need a good Police Task Force that cares for Kids and is happy to fully investigate and lay charges and take no notice of tears.
