PARAGLIDING ACCIDENT ON DAY TWO OF COMPETITION

A 77 year old paraglider has sustained serious head injuries and was trapped for a number of hours, after a crash at Mount Borah in Manilla.

He was airlifted to Tamworth hospital in a stable condition.

He was competing in the second day of the Manilla XC Camp, alongside 120 others from 12 countries.

The week-long competition is the largest of its kind in Australia.

The competitor who travels the greatest distance by the end of the week will take home top prize.
