After taking in water off the coast of Evans Head last week,
The Yacht ‘red sky’ has washed up on Broadwater beach.
It’s believed the yacht hit a submerged object and the bilge pumps failed, forcing the skipper and three fellow occupants to abandon ship.
Now the mission to recover the 25 tonne yacht begins.
The removalists will need to build a metal sled to remove the vessel.
It will then have to be lifted off the beach and trucked away.
The wreckage is expected to be cleared by the weekend.
