After initial concerns about the number of Oztag playing fields in Tamworth for the State Cup in March, Council has approved the use of the baseball facility across the road.
More than 2,000 players are expected to hit the pitch in the three-day carnival.
With the facilities up to standard, Tournament Director Bill Harrigan has issued a challenge to the hosts.
“When they travel to Sydney, Wollongong and other places, Coffs Harbour, they bring along three or four teams. Now you’ve got it in your home, I wanna see all the Tamworth people come out and play Oztag, and get 10 teams.”
